What is a composite front door?

Composite front doors are made from a number of materials that are pressed and glued together under a very high pressure.

These doors are often much thicker than other kinds of doors (uPVC doors) and often measure around 44mm instead of the regular 28mm.

What are UPVC front doors?

UPVC doors are made from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, which is a strong plastic material which is reinforced with other strong materials.

So, what’s the difference?


If you are working with a lower budget, UPVC doors are the ones to look at. They are generally easier to make and the materials are cheaper to source meaning that you can get them at a better price than composite doors.

That being said, you can still get a wide range of designs and colours that can accentuate your home a create a lovely starting space for your home.

Look and feel

As composite doors can be made from more aesthetically materials such as wood and aluminium, they can be tailored to have a more modern and complimentary look. This comes with the cost of the door, the more you spend the better your door will look.
